We, with our good friends the Crosses and the Collecutt-Tomsons went down to Rakiura (Stewart Island) - the 3rd major island of Aoteara (New Zealand) for a week to explore and tramp the Rakiura Great Walk. We flew down from our home in Ĺtautahi (Christchurch) to Invercargill, and from there flew to Oban, Rakiura via a wee 9 seater. We went to the unspoiled Ulva Island (near Oban, the main town in Rakiura, pop 400ish) and hired a boat called Tequila for a fishing expedition... where we caught more than we bargained for! The tramp was good but muddy, but after all, we were in a rain forest, so what else could we expect!
