In the last week of the term, Christchurch South Karamata Intermediate fielded an Ultimate team for the Koru Games 2024 held at Foster Park, Rolleston, over 3 days - 24-26 Sept. It was very windy all three days, with the final day being windiest! The South team, with its ten formidable players prevailed against all comers, completing the pool play and semis undefeated. All but one or two of their victories were by many point (the closest by 2 points, I believe). In the final, they faced South Brighton Intermediate, who'd also had a very successful pool play, and it was a cracking good game, with both teams showing great spirit (sportpersonship) and athletic ability. In the end, Chch South's team won the final 7-1, taking the tournament! I think all involved thought it was a very good event, despite the wind!
